Nestled in the rolling hills of Worthington Valley, Loveland Lavender Farm is a serene, family-run organic farm devoted to cultivating premium lavender in harmony with nature. Founded by Michelle and John Mele, the farm began in 2021 as a peaceful escape—an intentional place to slow down and connect with the land’s quiet beauty. Surrounded by historic countryside, the property quickly became more than a retreat; it became a calling.

As a passionate beekeeper, Michelle noticed the challenges local pollinators were facing due to a lack of diverse flora. That realization sparked a new vision: to plant with purpose and let lavender lead the way. In 2023, the first 130 lavender plants and 10 spearmint starts took root, beginning a journey of growth, discovery, and stewardship. With each season, the fields have expanded—through triumphs and setbacks alike—with a deep commitment to sustainability, care, and intention.

Today, neat rows of fragrant lavender stretch beneath the open sky, their soft hues shifting from silvery green to deep violet as the light moves across the valley. The air is rich with the unmistakable scent of lavender—herbaceous, floral, and soothing—welcoming both pollinators and visitors to pause and breathe it all in.

Loveland cultivates distinct varieties for two cherished purposes: essential oils and culinary delights. On one side of the field, robust cultivars like Lavandula angustifolia are grown for their high oil content, harvested at peak bloom, and distilled on-site into pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils. In the distillation barn, warm waves of fragrance drift through the air—where tradition and science meet in every drop. On the other side, milder, sweeter English varieties are hand-harvested and dried for use in teas, baked goods, honeys, and savory blends, where flavor takes center stage.

More than a farm, Loveland is a living expression of resilience, reverence, and the quiet joy of listening to the land. Here, dreams are rooted in lavender—and continue to bloom with every new season.
